Maharashtra, the epicenter of the nation coronavirus outbreak, has revised guidelines for the fourth phase of the national security lock. The state government has allocated to the municipalities and districts in the “red zones” and “non-red areas”. The demarcation is based on two factors: the number of deaths and a doubling of the rate in the last seven days.

Maharashtra government has categorised all the municipal corporations in the Metropolitan Region of Mumbai and civic bodies of Pune, Solapur, Aurangabad, Malegaon, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgoan, Akola and Amravati as red areas. The rest of the state is non-red areas.

The coronavirus count in Maharashtra crossed 37,000 today. More than 2,000 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. The state witnessed the greatest leap in COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday. At least 76 people died due to the infection by the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Mumbai, India’s financial center, only accounted for more than 23,000 COVID-19 cases.

The new guidelines for the state shall be applicable in the post, the 22 of May. The lock was extended until the end of the month to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Here is a list of the things that are going to be permitted and remain prohibited in lockdown 4.0

1) All the private offices in the state will remain closed.

2) Taxis, auto-rickshaws, cabs, cab aggregation services like Ola and Uber are prohibited in the red areas.

3) Four wheels will be able to ply on the roads (in non-red areas) with only two passengers in addition to the driver, but only for essential activities. For two-wheeled vehicles, only the rider is allowed to move.

4) of Amazon, Flipkart and other e-commerce platforms are authorized to deliver essential and non-essential, even in the red areas.

5) In the red areas, essential stores will remain open while not essential shops, including liquor stores, will be considered as per the above guidelines.

6) All the industrial units, construction sites are authorized to operate in the red areas.

7) The state government not to allow the shopping centres and the market of the complex of the sale of non-essential items to open in Mumbai.

8) barbershops, spas and salons are not authorized to open its doors in the red areas, while the relaxation has been given for the non-red areas.

9) of the Shops and industries that are not covered under the guidelines will be given permission to remain open from 9 am to 5 pm at the non-red areas only for maintenance purpose.

10) Liquor stores, will continue to operate if allowed by the district officials. Home delivery of alcohol will be permitted.

11) Persons over 65 years of age, people with comorbidities, pregnant women and children under the age of 10 necessarily be obliged to remain in the home, except for essential services and medical services.

12) Restaurants are permitted to operate the kitchens for the home delivery of food products.

13) All the cinemas, malls, gyms, swimming pools, parks, theaters will remain closed.

14) For social events such as marriages, up to 50 people are allowed. The maximum number of people allowed at the funeral or the last rites is 20. Social distancing of the rules must be strictly followed.

15) The movement of people is strictly prohibited between 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., except for essential activities.
