Air India and Air India Express are slated to operate a total of 64 flights between May 7 and May 14 to bring in approximately 15,000 stranded Indians in 12 countries.

The government will begin the second round of the process to bring back the stranded Indians in different countries on May 16. The second phase of the Vande Bharat mission will take place May 16-22, the sources said. A total of 149 flights, including connecting flights, will be deployed to evacuate trapped Indians in 31 countries.
So far, Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express have operated 31 inbound flights during the first five days of the first phase of the Vande Bharat mission, bringing home 6,037 Indians who were stranded abroad amidst the blockade caused by the coronavirus.

India has been under blockade since March 25 to stem the spread of the new coronavirus, which has infected more than 70,000 people and has killed some 2,290 people in the country so far.
