The Delhi government has issued guidelines for passengers arriving in the national capital by train, as 15 special interstate passenger trains began operating on Tuesday.
According to the standard operating procedures (SOP) issued by the Delhi government, passengers arriving in Delhi by train will not be quarantined if they are asymptomatic for Covid-19. Such releases “may return home” and they will be asked to download the Aarogya Setu app if possible, according to the release.
According to the circular, those mild symptoms will be reported on the “Home or Home Quarantine Protocol” and they will be instructed to undergo personal isolation or home quarantine. The standard sampling, testing and quarantine protocol will apply to those who are symptomatic, the POE said. An adequate number of medical equipment should be placed at the railway station, he added.

“The Ministry of Railways will ensure that all people who board the train are compulsorily examined and only asymptomatic people will be able to board the train. At the railway station, the maintenance of order and the rules of social distancing will be the responsibility of Indian Railways, ”the guidelines read.
The detailed list of passengers with their arrival date and time must be shared by the railways at least one day in advance so that the necessary arrangements for the medical examination can be made, said the SOP
“The railways will establish a separate inspection area with inspection desks that maintain social distancing standards. An adequate number of detection counters should be made depending on the number of passengers arriving. All necessary furniture should be placed in the screening area and counters for medical equipment and passengers. “
The government said the railways will ensure that social distancing rules are followed while passengers disembark. He also stated that passengers will be landed in a staggered manner to avoid overcrowding.
