Maharashtra’s Covid-19 cases increase by 1,230 to 23,401, death toll is 868

Mumbai Maharashtra reported 1,230 new cases of covid-19 on Monday, bringing the state’s positive coronavirus case count to 23,401.

Of these, Mumbai only reported 14,521 cases with 528 deaths.

In the state, the number of deaths of patients with covid-19 has increased to 868.

On Monday, 36 infected patients died in the state. Of these 23 were men and 13 women. 17 of them were over 60 years old, 16 belonged to the 40-59 age group and three were under 40 years old. 75% of these patients had high-risk comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, etc.

Of the 53, 20 deaths were recorded in Mumbai, 5 in Solapur city, 3 in Pune, 2 in Thane and one in Amaravati district, Aurangabad city, Nanded city, Ratnagiri and Wardha. In addition, one death of a Uttar Pradesh resident in Mumbai was recorded.

According to the state public health department, 27 of the rest 36 patients (75%) had high-risk comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, etc.

According to Government of India guidelines, the group containment action plan is being implemented in places where patient groups have been found in the state. There are currently 1,256 active containment areas in the state.

A total of 4786 patients have been discharged to date after complete recovery. Currently, 2.48,301 people are in home quarantine and 15,192 people are in institutional quarantine.
