Shortly after the online reservation for passenger trains opened, the rail-ticketing website Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), loaded by the cargo, crashed in no time. Expressing regret, the railways said “reservations will be available soon.”

“Data regarding special trains is being entered on the IRCTC website. Train ticket reservations will be available shortly. Please wait. The discomfort is regretted, ”the railroads tweeted.

The reservations, which started at 4 p.m., will now resume at 6 p.m., the ministry said.

According to the railway ministry, train services will start on 15 Rajdhani routes and the fare would be equivalent to that of the super fast train.

The railways will operate 15 pairs of trains, meaning 30 return trips, starting Tuesday, nearly 50 days after it stopped its passenger services in the middle of the shutdown to stop the coronavirus pandemic.

Passengers won’t need a pass to get to the stations, they just need to show the tickets.

Passengers are encouraged to bring their own food and clean water. Dried and ready-to-eat food and bottled water will be provided on demand inside the trains for a fee.

In addition, online cancellation of tickets will be allowed up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train. Cancellation less than 24 hours before train departure is not allowed.

In addition, the cancellation fee will be 50% of the rate.
