Former Chhattisgarh prime minister Ajit Jogi fell into a coma on Sunday, doctors who treated him said.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the hospital where he is admitted, the doctors said that his brain could not receive oxygen due to the respiratory arrest he suffered on Saturday. This situation affected his brain and led him to a coma, they said.
The 74-year-old politician-turned-bureaucrat was put on a respirator at Shree Narayana Hospital in Raipur and doctors described his condition as “extremely critical.”
According to Jogi’s family members, he fell unconscious at his residence on Saturday morning.
Ajit Jogi’s son Amit said his father’s health suddenly deteriorated while eating breakfast.
According to a health bulletin released by the hospital on Saturday, a senior intensivist gave Ajit Jogi cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at his residence before he was transferred to the hospital.
