Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, 87, entered the Institute of Indian Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on May 10 at night with a complaint of chest pain. He is under observation in the cardio-thoracic room, said a hospital source.
The source said that Dr. Singh was taken around 8.45 p.m. and that it is stable. He is being cared for by a team of doctors.
The two-term prime minister previously underwent two heart bypass surgeries. To date, Dr. Singh has maintained an active life, and recently addressed a press conference with the President of Congress, Sonia Gandhi.

Her son and RJD chief Tejashvi Yadav said: “Looking forward to the prompt recovery of respected Dr. ManmohanSingh ji.”
Dr. Singh is one of the main leaders of the opposition Congress and currently represents Rajasthan in the Upper House of Parliament. He was prime minister between 2004 and 2014.
In 2009, Dr. Singh underwent successful coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS.
