Tamil Nadu government announces list of stores authorized to operate as of May 11

The Tamil Nadu government announced on Sunday a list of independent stores that can operate as of May 11, as part of the COVID-19 closure relaxations.

The government has asked these establishments not to operate air conditioners, to make sure that customers keep physical distance and use hand sanitizers. He has asked the authorities to ensure that employees and customers wear masks and follow the rules for distance. Establishments have been asked to regularly disinfect their facilities.

According to the announcements, the following independent stores may operate as of Monday based on government-announced hours:

3) Hotels and restaurants (only parcel service)

4) Flowers, vegetables, fruit stores.

6) Cement, hardware and health stores

7) Electrical and electronic shops and repair shops.

9) Sale and service of computers

10) Sale of household appliances

11) Sale and service of motor equipment

12) Sale and repair of glasses

13) Small jewelry stores (without air conditioning)

14) Small textile shops (without air conditioning): only in rural areas

15) Mixie, mill repair shops

16) TV sales and service

17) Small shops

18) Furniture stores

19) vegetable vendors on the road

20) Dry cleaners

21) Courier and parcel service

22) Photocopy shops

23) Sales of two wheels, four wheels
