The total number of cases crossed the 60,000-figure mark on Saturday.

For the third consecutive day on Saturday, the number of new cases of new coronaviruses in the country was slightly less than the previous day. On Thursday, 3,355 new Coronavirus patients were discovered across the country, which was less than the 3,530 reported a day earlier. It was then followed by 3340 on Friday and 3083 on Saturday.

Never before as the outbreak started in the first week of March, there have been three consecutive days of decrease in daily numbers. But there is little beyond this statistical coincidence, which was made possible in part by the Delhi government’s decision to reschedule its COVID newsletters and report only the half-day figures on Saturday.

Delhi said it had decided to follow a 24-hour cycle from midnight to midnight to publish its data, and that it would suspend its practice of disclosing information overnight for the data collected until four in the afternoon. On Saturday, he posted only the numbers that were collected between four in the afternoon and midnight on Friday, and there was no information from Saturday.

There was a 224 increase in Delhi during this time, that was less than the 300 to 400 cases that Delhi had been reporting so far, sometimes more, as it continued its previous cycle of disclosure. Delhi now has 6,542 cases.

The total number of cases crossed the 60,000-figure mark on Saturday. Of the 62,647 confirmed positive cases that have been found so far, 19,357 have already recovered from the disease. The death toll in the country has risen to more than 2,100.

In Delhi, there are also doubts about the numbers of deaths that have been officially recognized until now. The numbers of only five hospitals in Delhi add up to 116, while the information in the official bulletin published by the Delhi government puts the death toll at just 68. On Saturday, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said the mismatch in numbers it could be the result of hospitals that do not yet share complete information with the government, and there was no reason for the government to try to hide these numbers from the people.
