Explosion at NLC India Limited’s Cuddalore plant in Tamil Nadu & nbsp

Chennai An explosion occurred at a NLC India Limited plant in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. Reports say a boiler exploded at the NLC India Limited plant, formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited.

Seven people were reportedly injured in the boiler explosion. Massive smoke could be seen coming out of the plant.

The NLC India Limited relief and rescue teams have arrived on the scene and are trying to control the situation. Top NLC officials are also rushing to the site, Times Now reported.

Local police and fire services are on site. Firefighters are trying to control and put out the massive fire.

Operations at the plant have been temporarily suspended.

Earlier this morning, gas was leaked from the LG Polymers chemical plant in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. At least 11 people died and more than 1,000 people were hospitalized in the styrene gas leak, which had spread to a radius of 5 kilometers before being neutralized.

In another incident, seven workers were injured at a paper mill in the Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh when gas leaked during the cleaning of a tank. Three of the workers were reported to be in critical condition.
