Coronavirus worse for USA USA That Pearl Harbor, September 11: Trump
President Donald Trump renewed his criticism of China over the global coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday, saying it has been worse for the United States than Pearl Harbor and September 11.
Trump said that the consequences of the pandemic have hit the United States harder than the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 or the Al Qaeda attacks of September 11, 2001 in New York and Washington.
“This is truly the worst attack we have ever had,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “This is worse than Pearl Harbor. This is worse than the World Trade Center. “
Trump lashed out at China, continuing a war of words on the origins of the deadly virus that emerged in Wuhan last year.
“It should never have happened,” he said. “He could have been detained at the source. He could have been detained in China. “
China responded to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday for his claims that the virus originated in a laboratory in Wuhan, saying it has no evidence.
“This matter should be handed over to scientists and medical professionals, and not to politicians who lie for their own internal political purposes,” said the spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
