New Delhi:
The government has made it clear that states and union territories cannot “dilute” the guidelines issued by the center on the national blockade to control the spread of the coronavirus and that states cannot allow their own activities during this period. In a letter to the states and territories of the Union, the Minister of the Interior of the Union has said that only those activities allowed by the center in its guidelines are allowed, since it allowed some sectors to partially open from today in parts of the country less affected by coronavirus.
Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla wrote the letter Sunday after some states made their own list of essential activities and announced the relaxation of COVID-19’s blocking restrictions starting today. The government said this is not permissible and cited an observation made by the Supreme Court last month to take note as a direction.
“It has been realized that some of the states / UTs are issuing orders allowing activities that have not been allowed according to guidelines issued by MDA under the Disaster Management Act of 2005,” said the Interior Ministry.
“Once again, I would urge you to ensure compliance with the revised consolidated guidance, and direct all concerned authorities to their strict implementation in letter and spirit without dilution and to ensure strict compliance with the blockade,” the letter says.
Kerala announced the relaxation of closure restrictions in two areas, allowing the movement of private vehicles oddly and dinner services in hotels starting today.
“In Rajasthan, we will implement a modified blockade from April 20 to May 3,” Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted on Sunday.
“Our priority is to completely stop the transmission of COVID-19, but at the same time efforts are being made to start economic activities. During #ModifiedLockdown, it will ensure that social distancing is maintained during industrial activities, following the guidelines of the central government , “Mr. Gehlot said in another tweet.
Our priority is to completely stop the transmission of # COVID-19, but at the same time efforts are being made to initiate economic activities. #ModifiedLockdown, it will be guaranteed that social distancing is maintained during industrial activities, following the guidelines of the Central Government

Last week, the government published guidelines for the revival of industrial and commercial activities after Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the closure to control the spread of the coronavirus in the country until May 3. The government said it will allow some construction activities and industrial operations in rural areas starting today. Indian government offices and offices of states and union territories, private vehicles for emergency services, e-commerce companies selling essential products; The courier services, the MNREGA works and the financial sector may also work.
On Sunday, Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjab counterpart Amarinder Singh said the restrictions would not be eased in their states.
The government on Sunday reviewed the list of economic activities and services as of today and said that the supply of non-essential goods by e-commerce companies is prohibited during the closing period.
