New Delhi: As India prepares for the third phase of the COVID-19 coronavirus-induced national blockade that lasted until May 18, the air travel situation is still unclear despite the Center removing many restrictions on a notice issued on Saturday.
But Delhi International Airport has drawn up an exit plan for the resumption of operations. From check-in to gas station here is everything that will change in your travel experience after crash:
Passenger communication
Passenger may need to print boarding pass at home and highlight their name and flight details to reduce contact points at the airport
The airport will also use social media and airport channels to educate passengers on the importance of social distancing, the use of masks, hand hygiene, etc.
Temperature scan
The airport is making provisions for passenger scanning according to government-issued guidelines.
Social distance mark
Passengers will find floor marks in the shore areas and in the terminal to help social distancing.
Disinfection at the airport
All areas will be disinfected, including along the edge of the sidewalk and in the terminal, such as cars, restrooms, water fountains, counters, security areas, screens, touch screens, travellators, elevators, etc.
Ramp and esplanade
All trolleys will be disinfected through the trolley disinfection tunnel before retuning to their respective locations.
Queue managers with marked social distance on all doors
Seating arrangement to avoid long queues at the doors
Communication about safe travel and encourage the use of Scan and Fly for contactless registration services.
Check in Hall
Entrance doors, curse machines, and check-in bays will be assigned by airlines to ensure the smooth flow of passengers from the entrance to the check-in room and subsequent security.

* Additional seating will be provided in this area for waiting passengers
Arrival yard and transportation to the city.
* Social distance mark in all transport waiting areas.
* SOP is working with taxi providers to disinfect taxis before using them at the airport
* A similar SOP will be started for the subway and other modes of transportation.
* The entry of visitors to the terminal will be temporarily suspended.
Measures for airport staff and health and safety.
Measures are being taken to ensure that PPE such as masks, gloves, face shields, etc. are provided. for the safety and health of all employees.
* Each function is being studied to create the requirement for safety gears.
* ALL staff (DIAL and other service providers) will be screened at the front door to determine temperature.
