Samsung working on Exynos 992 for the Note20 line

According to a report from a reputable source, Samsung is working on the revision of the Exynos 990 chipset so that it can better match the Snapdragon 865 and the new version will be used in the Galaxy Note20 family.

If everything goes according to schedule, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note20 series in August with the Exynos 992 on board, an upgraded version of the Exynos 990 likely based on Samsung’s new 6nm manufacturing process.

USA And China is powered by Exynos 990 and faced a backlash from the user when it was discovered that they had higher power consumption compared to Snapdragon versions. Regardless, the Exynos 992 will also have an improved architecture, which would allow for even better performance compared to the Snapdragon 865 and considerably lower power consumption. And perhaps the units sold in Korea will also be running the new Exynos 992.

Another reason for the development of the Exynos 992 is the possibility of Qualcomm launching a Snapdragon 865+. So Samsung is forced to improve its Exynos 990 design so there isn’t a bigger gap between the Exynos and Snapdragon versions of the Galaxy Note20.
