Days after recovering from COVID-19, Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor on Monday expressed her desire to donate her blood and plasma for research work on the pathogen and treatment of patients with Coronavirus.

The 42-year-old singer said she wants to help others and therefore called the King George Medical University of Lucknow (KGMU) hospital for donating her blood.

“This morning I called the hospital to tell them that I want to give my blood and plasma for research or help others if possible. I want to do what I can to help,” Kapoor said.

Kapoor has already turned in his blood sample to the hospital and testing procedures are currently underway.

The 42-year-old singer was criticized and hired for failing to quarantine and attending social events after her return from the UK last month. Kanika’s sixth coronavirus test came back negative on April 6, after which she was discharged from the hospital.

On Sunday, the first and only Bollywood celebrity to catch the virus, she broke her silence and said there were several “misinformation exchanges” about her.

He also clarified that he did not organize a party on his return from the United Kingdom and that he was in good health when attending meetings organized by his friends. Earlier last week, Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson had also offered to donate their blood for research. They were the first Holywood celebrities to contract coronavirus.
