Smruti Thakkar became the first person in Gujarat to donate his blood plasma, after Covid-19’s recovery.
After initial skepticism, she donated the plasma after her parents supported her. “All I want to say to all Covid-19 survivors is that it is a very simple process, like donating blood and it definitely has to be done. If we can save lives by simply donating antibodies produced by our bodies, then we must do so. We only share our immunity and help save lives. I have been receiving so many calls and messages from other patients who are interested and it is very special to know that I have done something right. Something that has set the stage for others to follow. ”

Smruti also befriended another returnee from Dubai as they both recovered from Covid-19. “While I was in the hospital, I became friends with another girl who recently recovered. I have been talking to you about the entire plasma donation process and how you should do it. Now she is interested too, as I am fine after my donation. I’m happy to help. ”
