NEW DELHI: Union Minister Jitendra Singh criticized Congress for criticizing the Modi government’s move to freeze the honey allowance, said Sunday the party must first verify how states administered by Congress or other states run Non-BJP parties have ordered the deduction or deferral of wages for employees.
Mentioning the party’s “objective car” in the district attorney’s frozen dig, Singh said “congressional hypocrisy is exposed.”
The Union Minister said the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been paying full wages and pensions to its employees and senior citizens, even during the coronavirus pandemic.
Giving examples from six states, including Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Telangana, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh, Singh pointed out how these states have deferred or mandated the deduction of wages to their government employees.

On Thursday, the government froze the inflation-linked allocation for its employees and pensioners of Rs 1.1 million, helping to save a combined total of Rs 1.2 lakh that could be used to combat the coronavirus crisis.
Calling the freezing of the loving allowance “insensitive and inhuman”, Congress criticized the Modi government and said that instead of “hurting” middle-class employees and pensioners, the government should cut unnecessary spending and put aside the bullet train and the remodeling of Central Vista projects to save money to fight the coronavirus.
