The 23-year-old midfielder said moving from Norwich City to the Foxes in 2018 was one of the best decisions he’s ever made.

Leicester City star James Maddison dropped one more hint that he will turn down Manchester United’s interest and stay with the club while responding to a follower asking about his future.

The 23-year-old was tipped to join the Red Devils, and United is reportedly ready to make a big-money move for the England international.

Maddison, who has already suggested that he stay in Leicester, surprised fan Roy Fellows with a phone call amid the coronavirus blockade, and the supporter quickly asked the midfielder if he would stay with the Foxes.

“Of course I do,” Maddison said in the call shown in BT Sport Twitter account.

“It was one of the best decisions I’ve made coming here. I love it.”

Maddison admitted that the current restrictions on social distancing in the UK have been difficult as he seeks to keep fit.

“I am just isolating, just like everyone else. It is difficult at the moment because we have to stay indoors but also keep fit because we don’t know when the season will resume,” he said.

“We are only doing individual things at home. [Leicester manager] Brendan Rodgers ordered his staff to send us things to do at home, so we still keep fit, we are not sitting at home with the beers and cakes, don’t worry about it! “

Maddison confessed that pausing the season last month due to the Covid-19 outbreak was difficult as the Foxes were enjoying a fantastic campaign that places them in third place on the Premier League table.

“This situation is not ideal because we were doing very well and we were in the Champions League spaces,” said Maddison. “We just want to finish and try to secure one of those spaces because the football of the Champions League is something that I have always wanted [play]”

The companions answered about the possible interest on the side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: “Stay with us and you will be there, there is no use in uploading that damn M6!”

Leicester’s strong season has witnessed that the team’s current iteration inevitably makes comparisons to the 2015-16 title winners, although Maddison said it was difficult to compare the two teams.

“The current team compares to the title-winning team and they are completely different teams,” added the England midfielder. “There are not many survivors, I think Jamie Vardy, Kasper Schmeichel are the main pillars.”

However, Maddison said he was supporting the Foxes to win the title that season, as he was playing for Coventry City at the time.

“I think anyone who had anything to do with football became a Leicester fan at the game,” said Maddison. “Everyone likes to see the underdog win and they just couldn’t believe it.”

“Every week I remember thinking … Leicester is going to slip now, they should. That is exactly what everyone was thinking … but they just kept going.”
