On Friday, police claimed to have killed the terrorists responsible for the kidnapping of police personnel in southern Kashmir a day ago.
On Thursday, the terrorists kidnapped Javeed Jabbar from the village of Shirpora, in the Kulgam district of southern Kashmir.
Police Inspector General Vijay Kumar said the police neutralized the terrorists and rescued the agent. “A police officer was injured in the operation,” he said. This is the second incident in the last 24 hours when the police rescued a policeman after the kidnapping in southern Kashmir.
On Thursday night, Jabbar, who is part of a senior police officer’s escort team, was kidnapped from his home in the village of Chatwan Vihil in the Shopian district. Elsewhere, a CRPF jawan was wounded in a grenade attack by militants in Jammu and the Budgam district of Kashmir on Friday, authorities said.
The militants threw a grenade at a CRPF camp in Dooniwara in the district’s Chadoora area around 6.30pm, they said.
