New Delhi: By further reducing closure restrictions for non-containment areas, the Union Home Office has stated that stores in residential complexes can now reopen.
The ministry’s order comes a few days after giving approval to stores selling electric fans and books for students to reopen, marking a significant decrease in restrictions to restore economic activity in the country.
In an order approved Friday night, the MHA stated that “all stores under the Stores and Establishments Act of the States and territories of the Union, including stores in residential complexes and market complexes, except stores in centers multi-brand and single-brand business, outside the boundaries of Municipal Corporations “are now exempt from the Center’s revised consolidated closing restrictions.
The premise to reopen these stores is now strictly based on store owners operating with a “50% force of workers wearing masks and social distancing is mandatory.”
The order further emphasizes that neighborhood and autonomous stores within the municipal corporation’s boundaries have also been exempt.
