8 Pakistani Soldiers Killed As Indian Army Retaliates Against LoC Ceasefire Violation In Jammu And Kashmir


At least eight Pakistani Army soldiers were killed in retaliation on Saturday by the Indian Army in response to ceasefire violations from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The list of Pakistani Army soldiers killed includes 2-3 commandos from the Pakistan Army Special Service Group (SSG),” said Indian Army sources, ANI news agency reported.

“10 to 12 Pakistani Army soldiers injured in the Indian Army shooting which also destroyed a large number of Pakistani Army bunkers, fuel depots and launch pads,” ANI reported, citing sources.

At least four members of the security forces personnel, including a BSF deputy inspector, were killed on Friday in multiple ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops throughout the LoC. Four civilians were also killed in the multiple ceasefire violations reported from the Gurez sector to the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, authorities said.

Many others have been injured. Indian army sources said that around 10 to 12 Pakistani army soldiers were injured in the shooting by the Indian army. A large number of Pakistani army bunkers, fuel depots and launch pads have been destroyed, Indian army sources said.

The escalation of tensions came just five days after three Indian soldiers and three terrorists were killed in an exchange across the LoC.
