NEW DELHI: the Union health and family welfare ministry on Wednesday said that the 7.9 persons per lakh of the population of India is affected due to Covid-19 and the recovery rate is 39.62 percent.
“If the total population of the world is taken into account, then 62 persons per lakh of the population have been affected due to Covid-19. In India, 7.9 persons per lakh of the population is affected due to Covid,” said Lav Agarwal, deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Health, in a press conference here on Wednesday.
Agarwal said that at present, close to 40 percent of people who have recovered from Covid-19. Outside of the active cases, 2.94 percent in the help of oxygen, 3 percent in the ICU related support, and 0.45 percent in the fans, he added.
He said that of 4.2 persons per lakh of the population all over the world have died from the disease, while India has registered a 0.2 deaths per lakh of the population.
Speaking of Covid-19 recovery rate in the country, he said: “When the first running of the bulls started, the recovery rate was around 7.1 per cent. The rate of recovery during the second bull run was 11.42 per cent, which further rose to 26.59 per cent. Today the recovery rate is 39.62 percent.”
He said that it is “satisfactory” to the note that 42,298 people have recovered from the coronavirus and the number of active cases is 61,149.
