The downward trend in India’s coronavirus cases continues as 55,342 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s Covid count to over 71.75 lakh, according to data shared by the Ministry of Health this morning. This is the first time since August 18 (55,079) that India has reported around 55,000 cases in one day, and the second day when the total of new infections was less than 70,000 since September’s surge of around 90,000 cases. per day.
