NEW DELHI: Fifty-four percent of total coronavirus cases in India were reported among people 18 to 44 years of age, while patients 60 and older account for 51 percent of deaths, according to data published by the Ministry of the Union. Health and Family Welfare.
“54% of COVID19 cases are in the age group 18-44 years, but 51% of deaths occur in the age group 60 and over,” the MOHFW tweeted.

According to the Ministry, there are 8% of cases and 1% of deaths under 17 years of age.
14 percent of total coronavirus cases in India and 1 percent of deaths recorded among the 18-25 age group.
In the age group 26-44 years, 40% of cases and 11% of deaths were reported.
36% of deaths and 26% of cases were among people aged 45 to 60 years.
51% of deaths and 12% of cases were reported in the age group 60 years and older.
On Tuesday, the Union Ministry of Health reported that the number of recovered patients has grown 4 times from the first week of July to the last week of August 2020.
Up to 69,921 new positive cases of Covid-19 and 819 deaths were reported in the country on Tuesday, according to the Union Ministry of Health.
India’s Covid-19 case count reached 36,91,167, including 7,85,996 active cases, 28,39,883 cured / discharged / migrated.
