48 CISF staff test positive for COVID-19, most of them from the Delhi metro unit

The Central Industrial Security Force reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 among its personnel on Saturday. So far, 48 people on CISF staff have tested positive for the new coronavirus.

Of the 48 patients with COVID-19, 31 CISF staff members worked in the Delhi Metro Protection Unit. According to the news agency, at least 10 new cases were reported from the Delhi Metro surveillance unit in the past 24 hours. PTI.

Up to 13 CISF staff were confirmed to test positive for new coronaviruses at the surveillance unit at Mumbai International Airport. Other cases of COVID-19 were reported from CISF units at Delhi Airport, Ahmedabad Airport, and the Kolkata Port Trust. CISF personnel are among the frontline warriors against COVID-19.

The BSF said 30 new cases of COVID-19 were reported from different facilities. All were under the best medical care available at AIIMS Jhajjar and GB Pant Hospital, Agartala.

“The frequencies of sanitation efforts in workplaces / live barracks have been increased. BSF staff are repeatedly sensitized to firmly adhere to preventive protocols, “he said in a press release.

More than 540 positive cases have now been reported by paramilitary or central armed police forces, news agency PTI reported. Five of CAPF’s staff succumbed to the virus.

Interior Minister Amit Shah chaired a review meeting of the directors-general of all the central armed police forces. He appreciates the commendable work done by CAPF staff in the battle against COVID-19. “The entire nation is proud of our CAPF staff for their contribution in this fight against COVID-19,” Shah wrote on Twitter.

“The central government is committed to the safety and well-being of all CAPF staff,” said Shah.

The total number of coronaviruses from coronavirus cases in India increased to 59,662 today. Up to 1,981 died due to COVID-19 infections in the country. Maharashtra was the most affected with almost 20,000 cases of coronavirus.
