Mussoorie:
The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Stewardship Academy in Mussoorie has been sealed off for two days after 33 trainees were found to have tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
“We have found 33 positive cases. The shelters, the cafeteria, the administrative office and the library have been disinfected,” Sanjeev Chopra, director of the academy, told ANI.
The affected shelters and other areas will remain sealed until November 30.
There are currently 428 officers in training from the 95th Foundation Course of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Police Service (IPS), the Indian Forest Service (IFS) and the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) on the academy campus . Officers found to be infected were quarantined and 150 people were examined, while the remaining personnel were also investigated.
“A team from the Department of Health was dispatched to the academy campus from Dehradun. Medicines and other essentials were also sent,” said Dr Ashish Srivastav, Dehradun District Magistrate.
