Recruiters like Barclay, Goldman Sachs, Honeywell, Microsoft, MasterCard, Dr. Reddy, Tata Steel have offered more than 10 PPOs each.
Up to 30 companies participated on the first day, extending more than 130 placement offers to seniors. In addition to national companies, international companies TSMC, Sony-Japan and Cohesity US also offered jobs.
For the 2020-21 academic session placement campaign, more than 2,100 students have been registered, of which 1,300 are UG / dual degree students. More than 200 companies will participate in the first phase of the IIT Kharagpur recruitment campaign. Initially, between 25% and 27% of major companies, 65% of software companies, and 10% of consulting companies opened perspectives for students.
Speaking on the occasion, A Rajakumar, President of the Career Development Center, said: “The key components of this success are the excellent technical skills of the students, the flexible online internship plan and the long-lasting relationship with the company’s partners. This is the highest number among all major Indian academic institutes in major multinational companies, despite the current economic situation. “
“The excellent performance of students in an internship and the consequent high turnover of PPOs could have generated an overwhelming interest from companies to participate in the full-time recruitment. It is an encouraging sign for us that companies recognize the hard work, academic subjects, talent and motivation of our students during the internship and we are delighted that once again the main companies in the country have placed their trust in our students ” says the statement.
