In match 23 of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), the Rajasthan Royals (RR) return to Sharjah to face the Delhi Capitals (DC).
RR and DC have had contrasting fortunes in the recent past and are on opposite halves of the 2020 IPL point chart.
After two wins in its first two 2020 IPL games in the batting paradise of Sharjah, RR has slumped to three straight losses at the other two venues. The fragile middle order of the 2008 IPL champions has been exposed, with captain Steve Smith and star hitter Sanju Samson missing all of their losses. RR desperately needs a win in this game as they try to revive their struggling IPL 2020 campaign.
DC, on the other hand, has been one of the best teams in this year’s tournament and recorded an easy win over the Kolkata Knight Riders in their only game in Sharjah so far. Shreyas Iyer’s team also boasts of having one of the best bowling attacks at IPL 2020, and their unit’s strength will be put to the test at this venue.
