25 new cases of COVID-19 in Dharavi, the count increases to 833; 18 positive test on Dadar

At least 25 new COVID-19 cases were detected and one person died in Dharavi poor neighborhood on saturday.

The overall count for slums has reached 833, while the death toll is 27.

However, 222 people have successfully recovered in Asia’s largest slum.

Among the new cases, five cases were detected in Mukund Nagar, two in the Matunga Forced Labor Camp and Keru Shet Chawl.

A case was detected in Prem Nagar, Kela Bakhar, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, 90 feet road, Dhorwada, Muslim Nagar, New Municipal Chawl, Social Nagar, Siddhivinayak CHS, Cross Road, Kumbar Wada, VOC tower, Vivekanand CHS, Saibaba Nagar, Rajiv Gandhi Chawl and Shiv Shakti Nagar.

Dharavi’s slum represents a difficult challenge for the BMC amidst growing cases. The new BMC chief, Iqbal Chahal, visited the slum today to assess the situation.

Meanwhile, 18 new cases were detected in Dadar, including eight cases in Kasarwadi.

Overall, Dadar has reported 105 cases, including five deaths.

In MahimFive people tested positive, bringing the count to 112.
