Eight candidates from Telangana are among the top 24, followed by five from Delhi, four from Rajasthan, three from Andhra Pradesh, two from Haryana and one from Gujarat and one from Maharashtra.
JEE (Main) took place in January and September 1-6, with the second cycle postponed twice due to the pandemic.
Test 1 is for admission to BTech / BE programs at IIT, NIT and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI). Test 2 results for admission to B Arch courses have yet to be announced.
Based on the results of JEE (Main) -Paper 1 and Paper 2, the top 2.45 lakh candidates will be eligible to apply to JEE (Advanced) for admission to the top 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). JEE (Advanced) is scheduled for September 27.
The second cycle of examinations took place amidst security measures due to the Covid-19 situation. Measures included staggered entrances and exits for candidates to maintain social distancing standards, disinfectants and mask distribution, and contactless verification of documents at counters. The number of exam centers was increased to allow fewer candidates per room.
There has been a growing chorus to postpone JEE (Main) and NEET, but the Supreme Court threw out all of those petitions so students don’t miss a year.
