2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan will launch soon in the US.

RE Himalayan eicma-2 dual tone

The 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan for the USA will be similar to the domestic version and will continue to use the air-cooled 411cc FI engine.

Royal Enfield will present the Himalayan 2020 in the United States in the coming weeks and their pre-orders will officially begin on September 1. The local manufacturer is building on the momentum created by the 650 Twins in international markets and in just a few months. Back in the day, the Interceptor 650 ended up as the best-selling motorcycle in the UK.

The company is also betting big on dual-purpose Himalayan adventure tourism. The latest version of the Himalaya has been well received by customers, not only in India but globally and Royal Enfield is looking to capitalize on it. The adv will be shipped from Royal Enfield’s production facility in Tamil Nadu to the US and will be identical to the Indian spec version.

Royal Enfield provided many notable updates to the Himalayan 2020 along with changes to meet BSVI emission standards. They include switchable ABS system for fun sliding backwards, an emergency light to improve the safety coefficient, especially in the dark, a newly designed side stand, etc. It has also become more attractive with the addition of new color schemes.

Royal Enfield Himalayan is currently sold in Sleet Gray, Granite Black, Lake Blue, Rock Red and Gravel Gray paint jobs. In terms of performance, the US version will also be equipped with the 411cc air-cooled fuel-injected single-cylinder engine. It is good enough to generate a maximum power of 24.3 hp and 32 Nm of maximum torque.

The powertrain is paired with a five-speed transmission. The stricter BSVI emission had led to the discontinuation of the 500cc range comprising Classic, Bullet and Thunderbird. The Classic 500 is also being removed from the equation in foreign markets and the Classic 500 Tribute Edition marked the end of the legendary product in the UK.

In India, Royal Enfield is considering introducing a new range of motorcycles based on the J platform. The launch will be the Meteor 350 which will act as a replacement for the Thunderbird 350 and will be offered in three variants: Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. RE is also testing the next-gen Classic 350, a flagship Bobber, and the Hunter.
