The 2020 Mahindra Thar has been an instant hit since it officially launched on October 2, and the company announced Monday that more than 15,000 units of the SUV have so far been reserved to take anywhere. Thar 2020 had reached 9,000 units in reserves in the first four days of its launch.
Thar 2020 promises the same abilities to tackle a wide variety of terrains, but now it also promises a more premium and comfortable cabin, something that until now was missing from its list of attributes. As such, Mahindra reports that the vehicle has managed to strike a chord with those who have never owned it before. Of the total bookings received so far, 57% of the new Thar’s customers are first-time buyers.
In addition, Thar in automatic variant is also being preferred more than the one with a manual gearbox.

The idea behind offering these accessories and merchandise, Mahindra says, is to ensure that no two Thar vehicles are exactly alike, while the owner himself, or herself, may also have practical equipment made for Indian conditions and climate.
All of this has not only contributed to the buzz around Thar and its reservations, but has also helped the Mahindra and Mahindra share prices rise.
