The 2020 Kia Picanto facelift is in its third generation now and will soon receive a mid-cycle makeover that will bring a new styling package that will make the car look more modern.
The Kia Picanto is in its third generation now and has been available in its latest version since 2017. As is the case with any car that has spent about 3 years on the market, the Picanto has started to age a bit and is due to a Mid-cycle makeover that should make things a little more interesting. For the uninitiated, the Picanto is a small car similar to the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
The third-generation Kia Picanto will receive a handful of styling updates that should help it continue for at least a few more years. The facelifted version of the small car will get a set of new headlights that will be similar to that of some of the larger models like the Kia XCeed. The car will also receive a new front bumper, a new grille, and new fog lights. From what some spy photos reveal, the car will look more edgy than the outgoing model.
The back is where the car will not receive any significant changes. The images we have here show that the car has a revised bumper that looks sportier due to the C-shaped outer edges. The car will even get revised taillights, updated light reflectors, and a new exhaust can. If we talk about the cabin, the interior of the new model could get an upholstery update and some new features. However, we still do not have any confirmation of the same.
That said, the updated hatchback is said to have an advanced Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) driver assistance system. Engine options will remain the same, meaning the car will continue to be sold with a set of gasoline and LPV gasoline engine options.
The smallest of the lot will be a 1.0-liter gasoline unit with 67 hp, while the next will be a 1.0-liter unit that will offer 76 hp. The car will also have a 74 PS 1.0-liter gasoline option, a 1.25-liter 84 PS gasoline option and a 1.0-liter 100 PS gasoline turbo option. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic unit.
The company even plans to launch an electric version of the Kia Picanto on the European market, but that won’t happen before the advent of the next-generation unit. Also, the company has no plans to bring the small car to India, as it plans to focus only on SUVs and MPVs for now.
