2020 IPL points table and updated Orange Cap and Purple Cap list after Royal Challengers Bangalore win over Kolkata Knight Riders – cricket

Following their impressive victory over Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have overtaken the Mumbai Indians to take second place in the 2020 IPL points table with 14 points. That RCB recorded such a resounding victory – by eight wickets – dramatically helped its execution rate. The fact that they kept KKR at 84/8 in 20 overs and chased the target within 14 overs, helped RCB improve its NRR from -0.096 to +0.182, the third best among the eight teams.

Meanwhile, the loss may have done little to KKR’s position in the points table as they remain in fourth place, but their abysmal failure with the bat has hurt their NRR, which from -0.607 has dropped to -0.828. At the top of the charts are the capitals of Delhi with 14 spots, followed by RCB in second place and Indians of Mumbai in third. KKR has 10 points.

Orange cap

The KKR-RCB match did nothing to alter the top five of the 2020 IPL top race winners list. KL Rahul is still in possession of the Orange Cap with 540 runs averaging 67.50.

Hindustantimes

Shikhar Dhawan, after his consecutive centuries, is second with 465 races. Mayank Agarwal and Faf du Plessis rank third and fourth respectively with 398 and 375 races and Virat Kohli is fifth with 365 races.

Purple cap

There isn’t much change to the Purple Cap roster either as Kagiso Rabada continues to take over with 21 wickets.

Hindustantimes

Yuzvendra Chahal has improved two spots to take third place (15 wickets), followed by Jasprit Bumrah (15 wickets) and Jofra Archer (13 wickets).
