2020 IPL points table and updated list of Orange Cap and Purple Cap after Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders clash – cricket


Delhi Capitals regained their top spot in the 2020 Indian Premier League points table with a close win over Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday at Sharjah Stadium. Batting first, Delhi set a mammoth 229 run goal for KKR to chase after. Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw starred with the DC bat. KKR fought hard with DC, but ultimately fell within 18 runs of the target. The victory prompted DC to dethrone the Royal Challengers Bangalore from first place. They lead with 6 points in 4 games.

RCB ranks second in the 2020 IPL points table with the same number of wins in 4 matches, but its NRR is not on the healthy side. They defeated the Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets on Saturday.

The third position is occupied by the Mumbai Indians, who add 2 victories in 4 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad climbed to the top four of the Indian Premier League points table after defeating Chennai Super Kings by seven runs at Dubai International Stadium on Friday. It was a good performance from the Sunrisers as youngsters like Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma coped with the task and led their team to a total of 164 runs. Then the bowlers secured a victory for SRH by restricting CSK to 157 runs. The victory brought them to fourth place, tied with the Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders on four points.

Orange cap

There have been no major changes to the 2020 IPL Orange Cap roster with Mayank Agarwal leading the way with Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul not far behind. Mayank owns the Orange Cap with 246 runs, while Rahul has 239.

Purple cap

Yuzvendra Chahal has snatched the purple cap from Mohammad Shami after a man of the match display against RR. He became the Purple Cap holder after taking three wickets against RR. He is tied up on land with Mohammad Shami and Kagiso Rabada.
