The turning point was undoubtedly the 17th on bowling by the inexperienced Afghan Zahir Khan, who turns the wrist on Saint Lucia’s left arm, who managed 23 runs. Of 41 he required 24 balls, it was reduced to a run on ball when Simmons hit a six and Bravo broke a pair of highs on that change.

Scott Kuggeleijn, Zouks’ most effective fast pitcher, then lost his length in the next over against a furious Simmons, who hit a six and a four to effectively end the competition when 16 runs came from the 18th. At the end of the day, Simmons (four sixes, eight fours) and Bravo (two fours and six sixes) led their team to glory.

Earlier in the day, the TKR Pollard skipper brilliantly mustered his resources as he showed the way with figures of four wickets for 30 races, restricting Zouks to 154 after running to 77 for one on a stage. Pollard pitched his slower delivery variation on a field where the ball caught and was late.

Mark Deyal (29 of 27 balls), Andre Fletcher (39 of 27 balls) and Roston Chase (22 of 14 balls) started but couldn’t turn it into great scores. The Zouks lost their last six wickets by just 39 runs in six overs when Darren Sammy’s team failed to cross the 175-run mark.

Aside from Pollard, pacemaker Ali Khan (2/25 in 3.1 overs) and player Fawad Ahmed (2/22 in 3 overs) rose to the occasion on a day when Trinbago missed the Narine and Bravo bowls. .
