Yesterday, we showed you the leaked Datsun Redi-Go 2020 facelift document exclusively and today the information surrounding the BSVI version of the Nissan Kicks was leaked in a YouTube video. Nissan Motor India Limited officially unveiled the existence of the 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that recently complied with BSVI.

The midsize SUV made its market debut in January 2019 and has not been setting fire to the sales charts in any way. The Japanese manufacturer will seek to make a strong impact with BSVI Kicks, as will Datsun with Redi-Go, courtesy of the new on-board equipment.

The 2020 Nissan Kicks will be powered by a new 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, which made its national debut at Auto Expo 2020 in February under the hood of the Renault Duster. The Mercedes-Benz derived engine also has direct injection technology and is good enough to deliver a maximum power of 156 PS.

The KR13 DDT gasoline engine offers a maximum torque of 254 Nm. According to the leaked data, it will have an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 16.3 kmpl. Compared to the 1.4-liter T-GDI gasoline engine used in the second-generation Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, it generates 16 more horsepower and 12 Nm of higher torque.

This makes the new engine the most powerful in its class by all means. The powertrain features cylinder coating technology borrowed from the impressive GT-R engine. This helps return better fuel economy and powertrain efficiency along with higher performance characteristics according to Nissan.
