At least two rogue legislators from the Trinamool Congress, including Jitendra Tiwari, who had resigned from the party, took a 180-degree turn on Friday.
While Tiwari, a TMC MLA from Pandabeshwar, had resigned from the party after accusing top leaders of depriving the city of Asansol and not allowing central funds to flow, Biswajit Kundu, Kalna’s lawmaker in East Burdwan district also had issued statements against the party. leadership.
On Friday, however, Tiwari met with Aroop Biswas, a minister of state and a senior TMC leader, at the latter’s office in southern Kolkata and said that he would remain at the TMC and apologize to the TMC supreme, Mamata Banerjee.
On Friday afternoon, Banerjee had sent a strong message to the party rebels in a meeting with top party leaders. She had branded TMC leaders, who were dropping out of the party, as baggage.
Meanwhile, Kundu called Saugata Roy, TMC deputy on Friday and assured that he is with TMC.

“There was a misunderstanding. I accept my guilt. I never wanted to hurt Didi (Mamata Banerjee). I will never leave Didi. Have I ever said that I don’t obey it? I withdraw my declaration of resignation from the party, ”Tiwari said after meeting with Biswas.
Tiwari’s U-turn came after senior BJP leaders, including Union Minister Babul Supriyo, voiced reservations against Tiwari’s joining the BJP. Although Tiwari had never said that he would join the BJP, there was widespread speculation that he might join the BJP with some other former TMC leaders.
“There may be some misunderstandings within a family. They (Tiwari and Kundu) are with the TMC, ”Biswas said.
