In the afternoon, large crowds had gathered on the station platform, as these passengers continued to pressure the authorities who demanded quarantine instead.

“At the Delhi railway station it was clearly announced that they must undergo an institutional quarantine in Bangalore. After this, few passengers even canceled their tickets and returned as they did not want to be quarantined. The passengers on the waiting list were These commuters came from intermediate stops who didn’t know about this. We tried to convince them. Few of them were convinced, few wanted to return. ” said the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education and Covid-19 in charge, S Suresh Kumar.

The railway authorities asked those who refused to yield and demanded that they be returned. Of the 19 who returned, 12 were from Secunderabad, including two who booked their tickets online. Two from Guntakal, 4 from Ananthpur and one returned to Delhi.

Police in Karnataka IG (Railways) D Roopa tried to convince the passengers, many of whom agreed to quarantine. However, for those who decided to return, arrangements were made for their tickets to return on the night train.

Roopa wrote to the Divisional Railroad Manager to arrange for an extra boggie on the train to Delhi so that these passengers could be accommodated. The Rajdhani 02691 express train left the Bengaluru city train station at 8:40 pm on Thursday night.
