11.58 lakh from unpublished railway employees to get bonus equal to 78 days’ wages – government


The Ministry of Railways announced on Thursday that around 11.58 lakhs of unofficial railway employees received a bonus equivalent to 78 days’ salary for the 2019-20 fiscal year. This productivity linked bonus (PLB) for rail employees has been estimated at Rs. 2,081.68 million rupees.

“The Cabinet of the Union in its meeting held on 10/21/2020 accepted the proposal of the Ministry of Railways for the payment of the Bonus Linked to Productivity (PLB) equivalent to 78 days of salary for the fiscal year 2019-2020 for all Eligible unauthorized railway employees (excluding RPF / RPSF personnel), “the ministry said in a statement.

The salary calculation limit prescribed for the payment of said bonus is 7000 / – pm The maximum amount payable per eligible rail employee is 17,951 for 78 days.

“The Railroad Productivity Bonus covers all unauthorized railroad employees (excluding RPF / RPSF personnel) who are spread across the country. PLB payment to eligible railroad employees is made each year prior to the Dusshera / Puja holidays. The Cabinet decision will be implemented before the holidays for this year as well, “the statement added.

The Ministry of Railways also added that this payment is made for the performance of last year, that is, 2019-20. “During the COVID period, Railways employees have worked hard on the movement of special shramik, for the movement of basic products, including food grains, fertilizers, coal, etc., and the completion of more than 200 vital maintenance projects during the lockdown period, which will boost safety and overall efficiency in rail operations, “he said.

Even on the freight side, there has been a major improvement after the COVID lockdown period. Upload speeds have almost doubled now compared to last year. Cargo loading has also increased 14% for the October 2020 period compared to a similar period last year.

Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a bonus via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for 30 lakh of unpublished central government employees.

“Two important decisions were made today at the union cabinet meeting. First, the union cabinet approved the productivity-linked bonus and the non-productivity-linked bonus for 2019-2020. More than 30 lakh of unpublished employees of the central government will benefit from the The bonus announcement and the total financial implication will be 3,737 million rupees, “Union Minister Prakash Javadekar told reporters after the cabinet meeting.

“The bonus will be delivered in a single installment, through Direct Benefit Transfer, before Vijayadashami,” he added.
