NEW DELHI: Up to 1,074 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, the highest number of recoveries recorded in one day, the health ministry said Monday.
At a press conference, the joint secretary of the health ministry, Lav Agarwal, said the recovery rate is 27.52 percent with 11,706 Covid-19 patients cured so far.
In the past 24 hours, 1,074 Covid-19 patients have recovered, the highest number of recoveries in one day, Agarwal said.
He further said that the ratio of Covid-19 outcomes, the ratio of recoveries and deaths from closed cases, was recorded at 90:20.

“The earnings ratio on April 17 was 80:20, which is now 90:20, which can be seen as an improvement,” said Agarwal.
In the past 24 hours, 2,553 Covid-19 cases were reported, bringing the total number of cases to 42,533, while the total number of active cases is 29,453, he said.
Agarwal also said that the Covid-19 curve is relatively flat as of now and that it was not correct to speak in terms of when the peak would arrive.
“If we work collectively, the peak may never come, while if we fail in some way we may experience a peak in cases,” he said.
Agarwal assured that the test kits are not lacking.
“On Sunday, 57,474 tests were conducted. We have progressively increased our testing capacity as needed,” he said.
Amitabh Kant, president of the Empowered Group dealing with civil society, NGOs, industries and international partners, said in 112 aspirational districts: “we work with collectors and in these 112 districts only 610 cases have been reported, representing 2 % of national infection level “.
In these 112 districts, 22 percent of India’s population resides, he said.
In some districts like Baramulla, Nuh Rachi, YSR, Kupwara and Jaisalmer more than 30 cases have been reported, while in the rest of the places there are very few cases, said Kant, who is also the CEO of NITI Aayog.
Kant said that the telemedicine service is now available in the Aarogya Setu app.
He said that 90 million people have installed the Aarogya Setu app so far. “Arogya Setu Mitra, who has telemedicine functions, is also there,” he said.
The mobile application helps users identify if they are at risk of contracting the Covid-19 infection. It also provides people with important information, including ways to avoid coronavirus infection and its symptoms.

“The app allows people to assess the risk of exposure to Covid-19 infection based on their interaction with others, using cutting-edge bluetooth technology and algorithms enabled for artificial intelligence,” he said.
Kant said Empowered Group 6 has mobilized more than 92,000 NGOs and CSOs and asked them to help state governments and district administrations identify hot spots and provide essential services to vulnerable people, including the homeless, daily gambling and migrant workers.
