After much waiting, the first 2020 University of Delhi cut-off lists have been published, reaffirming that for some universities, nothing less than a perfect 100 would suffice! In a new record set by universities, Lady Shriram College or LSR has released a 100% cut for three BA (Hons) courses including Economics, Political Science, and Psychology. Hindu College follows with 99.5% BA (Hons) Political Science and 99.33% B.Sc (H) Physics.

The trend is similar for most of the top universities, including SRCC, which has posted a cut-off requirement of 99.5% for its B.Com (H) program and 99% for BA (H) Economics. Miranda House, which is one of the best universities in the country (based on 2020 NIRF rankings), has relatively lower demand, but only marginally. To gain admission to BA (H) Economics, a student would still need 98.75%. The university, however, has set a 99% limit for the BA (H) English program. Verify complete DU 1st Cut off List 2020 here.

BA (H) Economics, Political Science, and Psychology are among the best courses with some of the highest percentage requirements, followed by B.Com (H), BSc. (H) Statistics, Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics. In contrast, the lower limit is for BA (H) Sanskrit and BA (H) Hindi. While the limit for BA (H) Hindi is set at 91% for LSR and 92% for Hindu College, BA (H) Sanskrit is even lower, 70% for LSR and 78.5% for BA (H) Sanskrit.

These are the limits for general category students. However, for many of the best universities, the difference in the general category and the reserved category is only marginal and a drop of around 1.5 – 2% is observed. The full list is now available at du.ac.in.

The University of Delhi received up to 3.5 lakh of application forms for its 70,000 seats. The admission process would start from tomorrow, October 12, 2020. This year, the admission process is completely online due to the coronavirus pandemic. The new session for the University of Delhi begins on November 1, 2020. The second 2020 cut-off list is expected on October 17, 2020.
