Ten districts in Chhattisgarh, including the state capital, Raipur, have been blocked since today amid a surge in COVID-19 cases in these districts. The state capital, which has been reporting between 900 and 1,000 cases a day, has been declared a containment zone.

“The district of Raipur has so far reported more than 26,000 cases of COVID-19 and between 900 and 1,000 cases are registered daily. The borders between districts in Raipur remain sealed during this time, “said the order issued by Raipur Collector S Bharathi Dasan.
All central, state and semi-government government offices, as well as private ones, will remain closed, although government personnel dedicated to the prevention and control of COVID-19 will continue to work as before, he said. No public gatherings or demonstrations will be allowed during the period, he said.
“All stores and commercial establishments, including grocery stores, will be closed. Medical stores will be allowed to remain open, while priority will be given to home deliveries of medications. Milk stores will be open from 6 a.m. . At 8 a.m. And then from 5 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. ” said an official.
Gasoline pumps will provide fuel only to government vehicles, private vehicles involved in medical emergencies and ambulances.
LPG cylinder dealers can take orders by phone only and provide home delivery.
Essential services such as health, electricity and water supplies, sanitation works and emergency services have been kept out of the reach of the restrictions, and those who need to move out of the district will need an electronic pass, an official said.
On Sunday, Chhattisgarh reported 1,949 new cases and 13 deaths, bringing the state count to 86,183 and the total death toll to 677.
The state now has 37,853 active cases, a state official said.
