Independent developer becomes Bloodborne 2D in Yarntown as Zelda


Bloodborne It is many things, according to some, the best game of the generation, and “cute” is not one of them. But independent developer Max Mraz dared to answer the question: what if Bloodborne cute? And so Mraz was born Yarntown, a 2D inspired version of The Legend of Zelda from Bloodborne, in existence

In mid-June, Mraz released Yarntown free at itch.io. Yarntown takes place in Yarnham, the world of Bloodborne, but it takes visual and game inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Despite its pixel art and 2D animation, Yarntown it also has the familiar gameplay elements of Bloodborne. Players can level up, gain blood echoes, roll to dodge enemies, control their resistance meter, heal with vials of blood, and attack Gothic enemies with their hunter sword. The game even features at least two of BloodborneThe first chiefs: the Beast of the Cleric and Father Gascoigne.

Players can download Yarntown free from Mraz’s itch.io page. Mraz describes it as “a Zeldalike tribute to Bloodborne. Explore the streets of a cursed Gothic city, hunting beasts and discovering twisted bosses. “Currently playable on Linux, Mac and Windows PCs, and offers driver support.
