David Dobrick, who has millions of followers on YouTube, Ticket OK and other social networks, walked out of the board of the photo-sharing app Dispo on Sunday. His departure came about a week after insider reported the allegations of a woman who said she had been sexually assaulted in 2018 by a former member of Dobrick’s influential group of friends, known as the “Volog Squad”.
Dispo said in a statement to some media outlets that David has chosen to leave the board and leave the company so as not to be distracted by the company’s growth. “Dispo’s team, production and most importantly – our community – stand for building a diverse, inclusive and empowered world.”
Dobrick and Dispo did not immediately respond to requests for comment from CNN Business. In a YouTube video responding to an insider report last week, Dobrick apologized for letting his fans down. “I don’t stand for any kind of misconduct,” Dobrick said. “I’m really frustrated by some of my friends. And that’s why I’ve been separated from so many of them.”
The display, initially launched in an invite-only mode, mimics the experience of using a disposable camera. Users take a photo and check it the next morning to “evolve” with a retro filter. The app also has a social aspect and lets you follow other users.
Hours before Dobrick’s resignation on Sunday, Spark Capital, one of Dispo’s top investors, said it had decided to “sever all ties” with the company because of reports about the social media star and the Volog Squad. The significant move comes a month after Spark Capital’s પો 200 million valuation of Dispo’s 200 million funding report.

On Monday, Reddit Seven Founder, a fund called Reddit Seven Six, was told by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian that it would donate any profits from its investment in the depot to an indefinite organization that survived the sexual assault.
“We’ve been working closely with Dispo over the past week and fully support their decision to part with David,” said Seven Six. Said On Twitter. “We have believed in Dispo’s mission from the beginning and will continue to support the hardworking team to bring it to life.”
In the days following the allegations, brands, including Insler Shave Club, Dordesh and Hello Fresh, dropped sponsorship deals with Dobrick, according to Insider.
