If Trump wanted people to avoid ‘60 minutes ’, it wouldn’t work

NEW YORK (AP) – President Donald Trump could still be a strong streak of television, although in the case of “60 Minutes” this past week, it probably wasn’t his intention.

The 17.4 million viewers who watched CBS Newsmaze featuring interviews with Trump and anti-Democratic BN Biden were the show’s largest audience in more than two years, the Nielsen company said. The angry president did not like the questions even though he released an undated version of his conversation with Leslie Stahl on Facebook three days ago.

The “60 Minutes” has averaged 10.3 million viewers so far this season, so obviously some people wanted to watch the broadcast after hearing about the controversy, or watch the full tape and be curious about how CBSA edited it.

“We were prepared to talk about many of the issues and questions facing the president, but the conversation was cut short in what has been a public outcry,” Stehl said, referring to the controversy in his introduction.

It was the biggest “60 Minutes” audience since March 25, 2018, another episode, Trump certainly didn’t want people to see it, as it featured an interview with adult film star Stormy Daniels. He accused her of having an affair with Trump, who denied it.
