The MMA world will witness one of the bitterest rivalries developing within the Octagon on Saturday. Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman will block the horns with the Badf Motherf ** ker, Jorge Masvidal.
As Gilbert Burns nearly made it to Fight Island, he tested positive for the coronavirus along with two of his cornerbacks before boarding his plane. This unfortunate series of events dealt a massive blow to UFC plans for a massive main event for a fully stacked UFC 251.
However, the arrival of ‘Gamebred’ on the scene is a saving grace. Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz also commented on the same via Twitter.

Ali was quite excited about the fight when the UFC originally planned it. But, Jorge seemed to disagree in terms with the UFC regarding his fighting portfolio. Failing to reach a midpoint, Jorge declared that he would not participate in the title fight. And that’s when Burns came on the scene.
Masvidal even stated that it would be fine if the UFC released him from his contract. However, he came in to save the day when all hopes of a welterweight title were dashed by the unfortunate news about ‘Durinho’.

Of course, the timing of the Tweet generated a lot of speculation. While some thought this was just a general Tweet, others perceived the idea of a massive main event on the way. Well, it is evident that those with the last school of thought were right.
Masvidal and Usman have one, if not most, of bitter rivalries in the sport. Their altercations even appeared on SuperBowl Radio, where the two threatened each other.
Therefore, this Saturday, in just six days, we will witness one of the most epic rivalries taking place within the Octagon. Two of the most brutal welterweights with a personal revenge, one titular and one celebratory champion. A total war in sight.
