Vera Jourova, vice president of the European Commission (EC) of Values and Transparency, asked Zoltán Kovács, Secretary of State for Communication and International Relations, to resign on Friday.
The secretary of state responded to Jourova’s post on Twitter, in which the committee’s vice chairman wrote, among other things, that “the most basic expectation is that funds raised from EU taxpayer money go to places where rule of law is not threatened. “
“He betrayed his political bias by calling Hungary a sick democracy and insulting our constituents by saying that we are incapable of forming an independent opinion. It is incapable of representing the values it preaches. It is time to surrender,” Zoltán Kovács wrote in his publication of Twitter Secretary of State for Communication and International Relations.
Oh seriously? Do you expect us to buy that? @verajourova, he betrayed his political prejudice when he called Hungary a “sick democracy” and insulted our voters by saying that “we cannot form an independent opinion”. You are not fit to represent the values that you preach. Time to quit. https://t.co/1YHPySgTTK
