Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus was mostly between 50 and 100 in 24 hours. The first step is a partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

As of Tuesday, anyone from an area that is dangerous for a coronavirus epidemic can only enter the Netherlands with a negative PCR test, but after all countries fell into this category on the map of the Ministry of Relations Outside The Hague on Wednesday, the restriction is now global.

The measure is in force for countries outside the European Union from December 15, but will apply to all countries as of December 29, regardless of the means of transport used by passengers.

On Sunday, the Netherlands were the first to prevent a UK passenger jet from entering its territory because a new strain of the coronavirus, 70 percent more contagious than previous variants, emerged in south-east England.

On December 14, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced new epidemiological measures that have not been rigorous since the outbreak began in the country and will remain in effect until January 19.
