The country’s prime minister promised the EU’s withdrawal from Scotland, but they would have to leave the UK first.

“Europe, Scotland will be back soon. Leave the door open, ”Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon wrote on Twitter after the end of the post-official Brexit transition and the UK virtually withdrew from the European Union.

Sturgeon attached to the pledge an image of the European Commission building when the Scottish ruling party projected the words “Europe” and “Scotland” connected to the heart on its facade.

The majority of Scottish voters voted against abandoning the Brexit referendum, and the ruling Scottish National Party (SNP) pulled Scotland out of the EU against the will of the central government in London. In the referendum on Scottish independence (even before the Brexit referendum), a narrow majority of Scots voted to keep the country as part of the UK. The SNP and Sturgeon want a new independence referendum, but London has refrained from doing so.

The Scots also complain that they claim that the British negotiating team did not even attempt to negotiate special conditions for Scotland after Brexit, even though they have negotiated special rules for both Northern Ireland and Gibraltar.

Getting closer

The UK’s membership in the European Union ended at the end of January, and now at midnight the break will be final. We have followed many moments of uplifting, sad and sad action over the last four and a half years, sometimes we laugh, sometimes we get frustrated and lose some of our illusions about Europe and the British. We remember the moments of the break in images.
